In our increasingly diverse and interdependent world, one of the greatest challenges is finding ways that people of different races, cultures, faiths and points of view can work together on common concerns. Unless we improve our ability to bridge differences, we may not be able to find adequate, workable solutions to the problems that threaten our future.
Communities Working Together (CWT) was created in 2001 to address this challenge. CWT does this by utilizing a variety of dialogue and conflict resolution methods and applying them directly to specific community problems. In all of CWT's work, the focus is on exploring and understanding the various perspectives that exist on a particular issue and helping people identify specific actions they can take together to achieve common goals. Communities Working Together engages in projects with a wide range of organizations, groups, institutions and government agencies. CWT works on a variety of issues, and specializes on those relating to race relations, intercultural communication, social justice and reconciliation.
